First i attached two common boards to the wall with liquid nails and nails.
Building half wall columns.
Ever since we have been showing you the wrap up of the living room and the built in s plans part one and part two we have had a lot of questions on how we built our columns so we broke the process down for your building pleasure.
Measure the completed column to cut the reversible flute on bottom and the mdf base on the top.
Make sure it is the pressure treated bottom plate that makes contact with the concrete.
Install the back finished columns and put a couple of nails in to hold the column into place along the wall.
Place the completed half wall frame on the line you chalked earlier between the two columns.
Measure five equidistant lines down the length of the column to place the colonial panel molding and mark off on column with a pencil.
Use shims to make any adjustments.
Once the frame is in place check to see if it s level.
